Hi, i facing the problem with insufficient memory allocation for CFX. The number of node i have is about 24 million. I did increase the real stack memory size to 10x but the problem still the same. Anyone could please help me look on this problem?

Are you using some beta functionality? The error message suggests you are.

Hi, ghorrocks. I did not used any beta functionality for this simulation. Only have solid and fluid domain to study the heat transfer. May i know what is the error pointed to?

The error says it has run out of real stack - that is obvious. But the tricky bit is what caused it to run out. The first error is looking for "BETANEW" in the MMS and that could be beta features - but on second thoughts it is more likely hi-res differencing scheme.

You can get this error sometimes with complex GGI interfaces. If you have a 24M node mesh that might be the cause. Are your GGI interfaces complex?

Ghorrocks- thanks for your reply. For this model i used symmetry approach since full model is unlikely to mesh. The simulation is about the cooling fin, therefore there are alot of faces to couple for fluid and solid interface for heat transfer, i'm not sure whether this is complex or not. May i know how can i resolve this problem? reduce the mesh?

Yes, the large GGIs have caused problems like this for me in the past. Have you run it with a coarser mesh? I would start with that then refine the mesh from there.

Ghorrocks, thanks for your reply. I will coarsen the mesh and try.
