Dear all,
I am getting ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction message in solution. I am injecting solid inert particle into water system for few seconds ( ~ 20 sec) and doing transient simulation. Initial conditions are assigned from the steady state simulation result file. Total mass of particle is fix and i am varying the injection time from 3 , 5 and 20 sec. This error is not appearing for 3 sec simulation but appers for rest. Time Step is 0.25 sec and total simulation time is 900 sec Please help to find mistake in simulation. Thanks, Sujay Patil ================================================== ==================== TIME STEP = 43 SIMULATION TIME = 1.0750E+01 CPU SECONDS = 6.536E+03 This run seems to be going fine then crashed. Does it always crash at the same location? Is it when it is writing the first results file?

yes for same run it crash at same location.
It crash before writing result file. Sujay |

Does it crash when writing the first results file? In other words, if you do not write the results file does it run fine?

actually i have this problem my simulation goes well but it crashes when writing the first results file, no matter when it wants to make a backup file , after 3 iteration or 300 iterations !!! |

Obviously it is getting confused when writing the results/backup file then. So I would simplify the result file (write a partial results file) and add the bits one at a time so you can identify which bit is causing the problem. Then it will give you a clue as to where to look.

Hi everyone,
I am currently facing the same problem in my calculations. I'm running a transient simulation of a two stage turbine. Everything is going well up to the point when the solver should write a results file. Doesn't matter if I manually click on writing a backup in the solver manager or if it is preset in the definition file as a backup or as a transient output file. +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Writing backup file 25_full.bak | | Name : Requested from solver manager or command line | | Type : Standard | | Option : End of current iteration | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ Parallel run: Received message from slave ----------------------------------------- Slave partition : 7 Slave routine : ErrAction Master location : RCVBUF,MSGTAG=1021 Message label : 001100279 Message follows below - : +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction. | | Message: | | c_fpx_handler: Floating point exception: Overflow | | | | | | | | | | | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ You said that it could help to simplify the result file, to write a partial result file, respectively. How am I able to do that? Am I able to set that up in Pre? What options are there to identify the error in my setup? Thank you! Simon |

This is interesting way to do some troubleshooting, you can do that in cfx-pre -> output control -> results -> option, and then you can select essentiel, selected variable or standard

Alright, will try.
Thank you! Update: I am able to write results files again if I choose the "selected variables" option. If I select all desired variables and check the box for exporting the mesh, is there any difference to the "standard" option other than not being able to restart the run?
