Hi everyone,
I want to have a heat transfer simulation of a sintering process. The combination of a metal powder and a solvent should be heated and the thermal simulation should be observed. Does anybody have an idea about the models can be used for the combination of the solid powder and the fluid? I guess there are some difficulties like boiling after heating , or considering the non-newtonian fluid .... . Is it possible to have these kinds of simulation? Thanks in advance. |

Yes, that is all possible. But do not under estimate the difficulty of it - it will take quite a bit of careful work to get a complex model like that to be accurate.

Do each sub-model as a separate case, for instance CHT, boiling, porous material etc. Develop each model separately and do a verification and validation study on each so you know what each model requires by itself for accuracy and stability. Then combine them together in a full model.
But also have a careful think about what you are trying to achieve with this simulation. Invariably as you develop complex models like this you find that a simpler model will actually give you the information you need. Then you dump the complex model and use a simpler one instead. |
