Dear all,

i try to analyse the flow around the leading edge of a radialcompressor. I want to creat a plane parallel to blade leading edge, exactly in front of the impeller inlet. The problem is that the blade leading edge ist not just radial but backswept in axial flow direction (not backswept in circumferential direction) so the parallel plane has to be a cone.

Does somebody know how to creat such a cone plane?
I´m grateful for any help.

I have found the solution by myself.
Its possible to creat a cone plane by inserting a "surface of revolution" mit the method "cone".

be careful using the surface of revolution. I believe v14 still does not trim to the domain (reported this issue way back in v10). If your surface is outside the domain you will get incorrect answers. perform a plot of pressure or velocity on this surface of revolution to do a check.

Why don't you activate turbo mode. it is designed specifically for turbines and compressors!

I have try to work with the turbo mode but i am not able to initialize the compoments. Every time i try to initialize the components automatically/manually i get the error massage "can not initialize component "impeller" in domain "impeller" ".

Do you have any solid domains? if you have just create a CFD Result component in the WB or Stand alone mode and import the results file.
