Welcoming new users

We now have almost 600 registered users. The vast majority of these have not made any contributions yet. Perhaps one way to get registered users more involved right away is to welcome them with a small notice on their talk/discussion pages after they have joined.

I have created a small template to make this welcoming easy to do. I think that all of us more "senior" CFD-Wikians should do this welcoming as a team effort. It looks better if we greet people as a team I think. So as soon as you see a newly registered user please take a sec to send him a greeting on his talk page!

To use the welcome template just write something like this on the new user's talk page:
{{welcome_new}}

You can of course also write a personal welcome message also if you want.

To find new users check the user creation log which can be reached from the recent changes list.
