Post 2D meshes have overlapped region

sir...
i am getting a problem when i am trying to save a mesh file..the message is 2D meshes have overlapped region and it cannot be stored....
so pls suggest me the possible reasons for this problem

What way did u use for meshing?
Is our mesh 3d or 2d?

sir,
thanks for ur reply.....
sir....am using the default 2D mesh generation option in AVL ESE diesel.
after generating the 2D mesh.....it shows 4 mesh sets have to be verified in mesh statistics window..
and also i couldnt save it...
it shows the message...2D meshes have overlapped region.it is not possible to save.
