Trying to solve a high subsonic compressible flow through a butterfly valve.
Having lot of issues with convergence. Typical problems like 1. High unrealistic velocities in enhancement layers. 2. Unrealistic high pressures. 3. High velocity at outlet. settings used are : Inlet: velocity and static pressure Outlet: unknown Turbulence Model - ke Please advise if any settings to be enabled or the process to achieve good convergence for compressible flows in CFDesign Thanks |

Definitely check out the suggested setups for internal compressible flow in the Simulation CFD Wikihelp:
http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Simulat...62-Internal762 The most common setup approach for these problems is Total Pressure >0 at inlet and Static Pressure = 0 at the outlet so you might want to start there. If you need to use the velocity and pressure at the inlet with unknown at the outlet like you described, make sure the pressure is a total pressure boundary condition. Beyond that, mesh refinement will probably be helpful. You might also try some solver relaxation in the Solution Controls dialog. You can log a support case here if needed: http://subscription.autodesk.com/sp/...74&id=11607975 |
