In ansys connection is used for establish connection between parts in assembly.u can also used for contact analysis or specifying spring connection

Question 2:

Meshing is a multiphysics soft but it works almost in the same way to mesh.
For CFD, don't forget to use Physics: CFD.
You can improve your mesh by controlling global parameters (Click on Mesh/Details appearing at the bottom of the window) and by having mesh method or local control (Right Click on Mesh: Method for mesh method (tetra hexa) or others features for local control (inflation/sizing...)

You can check the mesh quality by using "statistics" (last global feature) and choosing the criteria associated: skewness or Orthogonal quality now
