I've just had Ansys 12 installed on my computer, but have encountered a problem.
I start a project, make a geometry, start cfx-mesh and generate a surface mesh without issues. The problem occurs when I try to generate a volume mesh. The bottom left window displaying the progress seems good until it shows "storing volume mesh", and when it gets to "commit mesh" the program freezes and produces this error message: "AnsysWBU.exe has encountered a problem. A diagnostic file has been written: d:\DOCUMENTS AND SET..... .....\Temp\AnsysWBDumpFile.dmp".

Any idea whats wrong would be helpful, thanks in advance.

Hey,
I got a similar problem. I can generate the volume mesh but can't commit it to the project. When I try to update the project ANSYS tells me that "The Mesh cell in 'modelname' requires user input before it can be updated.". Anyone got an idea?

Hi there!

Sounds silly, but try updating your video drivers.
That solved the problem for me - the meshing tool kept crashing for no apparent reason during the meshing process with the message described above. Since I updated the driver I haven't had any more problems!

Good luck

Hi,

I tried mesh 2-D model. I could finish surface mesh without any problem, but when I tried to import this into fluent and assign boundary conditions I could not assign different boundary conditions to each edge as it is considering all the edges into single surface. How can I solve this problem. Is there any option like split edge?

You need to set the boundary conditions within ICEM CFD when do output, if ICEM CFD is used as the meshing tool. And set proper parts for the edges.
