Upa_upitas is on a distinguished road
Hey,

I have been using Workbench and CFX for six months on my computer with a student license from my university (DTU) without any issues. However, on August 1st, a licensing issue appeared, and now I cannot use any features except for opening Workbench.

The error message says: "Error at host: Error: License is not available."

I have restarted the software and my computer several times, even on different days, but nothing resolves it. I also uninstalled the software and reinstalled the latest version. This solved the issue for a night, but the next day the license problem reappeared. The Licensing Setting ANSYS manager states the following:

vbnet
Copia el codi
lmutil - Copyright (c) 1989-2023 Flexera. All Rights Reserved.
Flexible License Manager status on Sat 8/3/2024 12:02 [Detecting lmgrd processes...]
Error getting status: License server machine is down or not responding. (-96,7:11001 "WinSock: Host not found (HOST_NOT_FOUND)")
Error: Command failed: C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\ANSYS Student\v242\licensingclient\winx64\lmutil.exe lmstat -c 1055@2325
I am desperate because time is running out, and I need the software to progress and finish my MSc Thesis, which is due in one month. I have tried Googling for solutions, but nothing has worked.

Additionally, I attempted to access the ANSYS Learning Hub to seek help, but the login process has changed. It now asks for a username, which I do not know, and I cannot log into my account. It's frustrating.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue? How did you resolve it?

Thank you all in advance!

Best regards

Gert-Jan will become famous soon enough
- I would ask this in the CFX and Fluent fora as well.
- Looks like the IP address of the license machine is not fixed anymore. Better ask the IT department of the DTU
- If your laptop is the license server, unplug it from internet.

With "unplug it from internet", I mean that you put in a cable that is not connected to the internet. It should have a dead end.
