Default System coupling FSI issue

Math_ is on a distinguished road
Hello everyone,

I am currently investigating a FSI issue, a 2-way coupling (Fluent - Mechanical) calculation on a highly flexible wing under aerodynamic loading.

For mapping purposes, I have to use the "extrapolation" option to transfer displacements to my dynamic mesh, which is only possible I think when using the external system coupling procedure (external to Workbench).

Since my wing presents strong structural non linearities, I am using the Large Deflection option within Ansys Mechanical, and also the command "SEMIIMPLICIT,etoi,time,..." to transition to the semi implicit scheme when the default implicit scheme fails to converge.

My issue is that Ansys Mechanical, when transferring from implicit to semi implicit due to an error about Excessive distortions (ex: "*** ERROR *** Element 11302 has excessive distortion."), seems to send this error to the system coupling program, which immediately stops the system coupling simulation because of this error.

However, this error shouldn't stop the simulation because once the transition from implicit to semiimplicit is done, Ansys Mechanical is still running and successfully runs until convergence, as displayed in the solution.out file.

Basically, the coupling iteration on the mechanical side is completed correctly by Ansys Mechanical but since the system coupling process has received an error message during this iteration, while it is not a stopping error, the system coupling process kills the simulation so that no more data transfer is done towards Fluent.

I would like to know if an option exists to prevent system coupling from reading this error as a stopping criteria, or to prevent Ansys Mechanical from sending this error to the system coupling process.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks a lot for your time and consideration.
