I am performing a simulation of a rotor and stator arrangement of a centrifugal compressor. I have created the meshes in Turbogrid where the centre of line of axis lie on (0,0,0). Now I want to do a simulation wherein the rotor has a certain eccentricity say e.
How do I create a mesh in Turbogrid or make changes in Design modeler so that I keep the volume of mesh same, but just that the eccentricity is represented in this mesh. |

Well if your eccentricity leads to very narrow gaps, almost like a blockage, you could use the GAP Method in Fluent that'll simply either block or increase visocity of flow when the gap threshold is reached. If not you might have to use remeshing approach if you eccentricity is dynamic in nature? If you have say a good hex mesh, the remeshing would be easy and just use smoothning.
