I have searched for a while to find out what the actual differences in the solvers for Solidworks Flow Sim and ANSYS Fluent are, but so far I have only found people's opinions on which is better or which they prefer.
Clearly ANSYS is the better choice for capability and accuracy(if you can afford it), but how good is Solidworks? Will it yield results within say 5% of ANSYS for the same problem setup? I bring up this question because I have used both and I frequently experience divergence issues with ANSYS where I have never experienced divergence in Solidworks. This leads me to ask, can I trust Solidworks to be accurate, assuming my input is good. I am well familiar with garbage in, garbage out. |
