Hi
not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but there does not seem to be an AQWA dedicated forum. I would be extremely greatful if someone could help I am relatively new to using AQWA, although I have completed some of the training tutorials provided by ANSYS. I am looking at the hydrodynamic response of a floating wind turbine when subjected to wave loads, I have confidence in this aspect as the tutorials have been a great help. It is the part of adding the turbine thrust load/overturning moment in the AQWA model I need help with. I have come across previous works that say that The hydrodynamic influence of the turbine on the floating carrier can be considered as additional added mass and additional damping. my question specifically is how do i translate my known turbine thrust/over turning moment to added mass and damping and the application of these into Aqwa as per the attached matrices? From dimnesional analysis I cannot see how to go from Newtons for thrust and either kg for added mass or Ns/m for damping? Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated Thanks |
