Hi everyone,
I am encountering a problem when creating a structured mesh for the FX 74-CL5-140 MOD airfoil. When loading the airfoil as 3D curve it is completely closed and looks like this: (https://imgur.com/a/UEPoPO0) However, when meshing it seems ANSYS cuts of the trailing edge not the way I would want it too: (https://imgur.com/a/lMvZy6e) I would like it to generate a mesh similarly to this: (https://imgur.com/a/zhJEEHg) Does anyone know how I can fix this problem? Thanks in advance. |

Hi,
One trick is to modify the trailing edge of the original profile. If youre using solidworks, you can just choose a location at the t.e say 0.99x/c and trim it off. Next draw a vertical line near the trailing edge. The reason for this is to use the "extend entities" sketch tool. Extend both the top and lower part till they become a sharp te. |
