Hey everyone,
I'm currently trying to model clogging in a pipe caused by particle collisions on the wall. I have seen papers where they implement a strategy of somehow changing cells in a mesh from fluid to solid, and vice-versa in simulating fouling in diesel exhausts. The only problem is, they do not at all specify how they change cells in a mesh from fluid to solid. My only idea at the moment is trying to utilise the DEFINE_PROFILE UDF in Fluent to change the porosity, but I doubt it'll work for individual faces. Is there anyway to change individual cells in FLUENT from fluid to solid, or externally using ICEM and the like? Relevant papers: Development of a Predictive CFD Fouling Model for Diesel Engine Exhaust Gas Systems - DOI: 10.1080/01457632.2012.738321 |
