Hello ,

I am making a Simulation CFD (2D) using ansys fluent and i have a workstation with 24 physical cores that supports hyper threading (48 cores), but i am still hisitating about runing my simulations on both real and logical cores because i ve read an article that says hyperthreading is only gonna slower the calculations ( not sure if this is true).

Does anyone have any idea about which way is faster using only 24 cores (only physical ones ) or using both ( with hyper threading 48 cores )?

Many thanks to you all .

Do you have the HPC licenses to run 48 cores?

Why not just run a quick benchmark to find out?
I've read using hyperthreading and double the cores makes it just slightly faster (20%) for Fluent. But I have never done the test myself, and this would also be a waste of HPC licenses.
