Stevenchan is on a distinguished road
Hi all,

I am an international student who is studying Mechanical engineering in the UK. I am currently doing my final year project and it is about 'simulating fuel spray produced by a hollow-cone injector'. I consider myself as a beginner therefore I do not know how to use this software quite well. So far, I have done the Geometry and Meshing part. However, I am struggling with the Setup Part, for examples:
  • what is the difference between Operating pressure, total Gauge pressure and Gauge pressure ? Let say operating pressure of my injector is 100bars, and the pressure at the inlet is equal to 40 bars. Does it mean the total Gauge pressure is equal to 140bars (100bars +40bars)?
  • what is the difference between Steady Time and Transient Time ?
  • How can I tell that my result is successfully converged from the scaled residuals diagram ? (Let say my Criteria is set to 0.0001/1e-4)
  • what is the difference between Hybrid Initialisation and Standard Initialization ?
I will be appreciated if somebody read my post and happy to help me out. Please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you all!

Kind regards
Steven
