What is the difference in connecting geometry component to mesh in Workbench?

Default What is the difference in connecting geometry component to mesh in Workbench?

In Workbench I have connected my geometry component to my meshing component twice - and I do not know the difference of connecting it to the mesh or geometry tab in the mesh component? Please see the attached image for explanation.

Also, I cannot delete the link from the geometry component to the mesh icon on the mesh component. Anyone knows why that is?
