Everything else works totally fine but as soon as I open the engineering data tab, ANSYS workbench slows down and later stops responding.
I have attached a screenshot where you can see an icon immediately right to the ANSYS icon in the taskbar. It is named "." and lasts for a couple of seconds during which ANSYS says "not responding". The workbench becomes very slow and it takes forever to enter data in this "Engineering data" tab.

What might be the possible problem?

Thanks for your help.

I deleted all the temporary files and rebooted my PC. After that, it has started to respond decently.

Hi there, I have the same issue, what temporary data is this you are talking about? Where can I find it?

Open run from start menu. Type %temp%. Delete the files in that folder.
Also, you can try changing the performance to High Performance through Power options.

I feel very inconvenient.
When I want to edit Engineering Data, I always have to do it again.
Is there a way to fix it permanently?

You can use any analysis system that uses ANSYS Mechanical APDL solver. eg. Static Structural. You can also find it under component systems in the ANSYS toolbox.
