Hello friends!
This question might be unsual here, but i need some help. And i would like to ask for some patience since i'm a beginner with CFD. For starters, i know this is not a programming forum, but my problem is the CFD software, since my programming code runs fine! I'm trying to start ANSYS Workbench via a web interface i did myself. The web interface has a function that enable me to execute a Command Prompt code, which in this case, it's similiar to start ANSYS Workbench via Prompt ("C:\Program Files\<myuser>\ANSYS inc..."). However, once i start Workbench via web interface, the program opens, then 2-4 seconds later closes. But if i do the same thing with ANY OTHER program (even ANSYS products such as Mesh, CFD-Post, etc), it opens and only closes if i say so (which i want to do). After looking at Event Viewer, i found out that what's giving me trouble is "AnsysFWW.exe", which shows an error message of unhandled expection. Has anyone tried to integrate ANSYS with a Web Browser once that went through that problem? What is this AnsysFWW.exe? By what i saw, the Workbench executable is RunWB2.exe. Thanks in advance, friends! Once again, please, be patient, i'm still getting started on CFD. Any links or materials about it will help a lot as well! |

AnsysFWW.exe is a process that tries to connect to the Ansys website to pull news and such (so they can sell you ads <== just kidding). This type of process is usually blocked by firewalls because it's generally not a good idea to let any program arbitrarily access the web (that's what malware does).
It could be that AnsysFWW.exe is trying to access the web, finds out it can't, and then stops. Check your settings to see if the process is being blocked. If Ansys boys are nice, they would have left the option to disable this feature somewhere in the settings. One thing that comes to mind, is whether you remembered to disable the RSS feeds when you installed Ansys. That's just my guess. Could be something else entirely, as I'm not sure what else AnsysFWW does, but I hope this gives you some clues. |

Sorry for taking so long to reply. I was travelling and couldn't access the internet in the meanwhile. You say there's settings to do so? But are they in the ANSYS Workbench or do i have to change setting in my machine? At least what you told me has given me some light to start somewhere. Thanks a lot, mate! |
