I'm trying to import a .dwg file from AutoCAD into workbench. When right-click "geometry" and select "import geometry" it says "the selected file is of an unsupported or unconfigured geometry type". I opened the CAD Configuration (as administrator) and selected AutoCAD and Solidworks on the "CAD Selection" tab. I then clicked "Next" and clicked "Configure Selected CAD Items" on the "CAD Configuration Tab".

This is what it said:

Prerequisites ..... Configure Success
SW Workbench PlugIn ..... Not Configured
ACAD Workbench Reader ..... Not Configured

The Configuration Log says this:

<<SolidWorks PlugIn>>
Invalid SolidWorks Dll File Path in createAnsRegistryXML2 C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v171\aisol\CADIntegration\SolidWorks\winx64\WB 171PlugInSWCOM.dll
__________________________________________________ ____________________
<<AutoCAD Workbench Reader>>
Invalid AutoCAD Dll File Path in createAnsRegistryXML2 C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v171\commonfiles\CAD\Spatial\iop\NT_VC11_64_DL L\code\bin\DSSpatialImportCOM.dll
Skipping Ansys Registration: C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v171\commonfiles\CAD\Spatial\iop\NT_VC11_64_DL L\code\bin\DSSpatialImportCOM.dll does not exist
Package may not have been selected for install.
ACAD Workbench Reader ..... Not Configured

Can someone please help me find out how to get these installed? Thanks.

As you import .dwg, .dwg must be open. it is one of import method,

So, method I can give you ..

1) Double click ''Geometry''
2) File>import
3) Update it

as you do all items above, rule: .dwg or something extension you use must be opened
