I have modelled the bicycle using lines and then meshing as it suggests using with the PIPE288 help area; and successfully managed to create a model which creates a reasonable deflection in both the x,y & z and behaves in a suitable way. I have also calibrated a simple bending model using hand calculations. So I am confident that the model is at least behaving corrected.
The issue I am having is when it comes to modelling the Von Mises plot; I have reviewed the output command table with PIPE288 and nothing points towards the Von Mises plot. My Element Table will not let me create anything with an S Command; I keep getting the error S is an invalid label even for plots that are within the Output tables for PIPE288. I have a feeling that this is down to the fact that I am struggling to refine the “mesh”; I have set a 5mm mesh for the line but this doesn’t translates into the solutions even for Etable for the element sizes (for the other commands such as PLLS, AXII0, AXIJ0 I only get 3 elements). I have been through all the commands points to such as SECTYPE, SECDATA, REFINE key, all the tutorials, the forum and the internet but without success. (I have been trying since Wednesday). What is really frustrating is in all my research I could do this easily in PIPE16 (the previous iteration to PIPE288) but at the end of my tether with PIPE288. |

I am also facing same issue. my laptop has version 14.5 and my college has version 18.1. Same problem everywhere.
If you got any answer for it then let me know please. |

This is a CFD-forum, not a FEM-forum. So, only with a lot of luck, you might get an answer.
