Hi, I am fairly new to this forum and ANSYS structural. I am trying to run a transient solution where a shock wave propagates through a slowly diverging thin walled pipe.

My issue is that in CFX the fluid flow region is modeled as a solid. However, when I transfer the pressure data at the walls over to Stuctural using FSI, ANSYS assumes that the solid geometry that was the flow field is now a solid metal instead of a thin wall like I would like it to be.

Does anybody know how to manipulate the geometry or ANSYS to allow me to use the transient pressure data given from CFX to Structural? Or can anybody guide me on how to export this transient pressure data as an XML file to import for Stuctural?

Thank you!

You may want to go through this and other parts of the same tutorial.. It seems fairly similar to what you're trying to do here..

Thank you! Although it was pretty helpful, structural will only import one timestep at one part of my geometry.

All I care about is the strength of my wall at a certain point in my transient solution. If I have the pressure data on the wall, is there a way to export that data as an xml so I can use it as internal pressure in my structural solution?
