Hello everyone,
I know that there is already a bunch of threads but they don't really solve my problem. I am trying to simulate a heat sink for power electronics application with a heat source of x Watts. I was using COMSOL previously but due to circumstances, I had to switch to Ansys. I am completely new to Ansys and have no idea where to start. Could you recommend me some tutorials where heat sink simulations in Ansys are well explained or give me some advice how to start? I already have a CAD file of the heat sink so I only need to model the heat source and the physics. In COMSOL I was using a heat sink with air around it with an inlet and an outlet so I guess I should do the same thing in Ansys. Also, the simulation was taking 2 hours in COMSOL but I've read that it takes much less time in Ansys. Is this correct? Thank you in advance, Marko |

Hi again,
So I've tried using Icepack, I've done the tutorial but when I try to do my own project the solver diverges. I guess there's a problem with the mesh but I don't know how to solve that. Would anyone mind helping me out? I've attached (hopefully) the .step file. |
