Hi ,
My goal is to calculate the turbulence generated noise as well as the noise generated due to fluid structure interaction in a S-shaped pipe flow problem. Also ,I have to calculate the Sound Pressure level at 1 m outside the pipe due to the resultant noise. I am facing problems in exporting the pressure data from transient flow solution of fluent to MAPDL/Harmonic analysis module in ANSYS workbench. So, I calculated the Turbulence generated noise using broadband noise model. To calculate the fluid structure interaction noise,I first exported the fluid pressure into a Static structural analysis module with the same geometry, performed the static structural analysis. Then I exported the pressure and the stress data onto another Modal analysis module. ( I did so because I am unable to transfer data from Fluent to Modal analysis module).I got a range of 6 frequencies of vibration. I created a 2-D circular infinite acoustic model and used the highest frequency as source frequency at the centre of the domain. Then I calculated the sound pressure level at a distance of 1 m from the source. Is my approach correct? The main confusion I have is whether to use modal or harmonic analysis for this purpose. Given below are the problem data :- I am working on a simple S-shaped turbulent pipe flow problem. The pipe dia is 0.1 m and the S-section length is 200(m)-100(m)-200(m). The fluid is air and the pipe is made of steel. The inlet velocity is 10m/s. Last edited by ankit1512; November 10, 2013 at 19:49. Reason: Better problem description |
