Is anyone willing to show me some video tutorial, or even record it's own Ansys screen on buckling and lateral torsion check of a simple plain truss members:
The amount of the compressional force on the left is not important, it can be any value (1,2,3 kN). The dimensions of the truss too - with member sizes of 0.5 or 1 or 2... meters in legth. Whatever. Here is the .dxf file of the truss if it would be easier to just import it into Ansys: http://www.4shared.com/file/uLH_4gc7/truss.html The only thing that would be nice to have are solid circular cross-sections. Btw I guess a stress analysis needs to be completed before the buckling and lateral torsion check. Thank you !!! I owe you a beer! |

George,
This forum is for the Ansys CFD software. I don't think many people here will be able to help you because you are using Ansys FEA. You will probably have more luck posting your problem on http://www.xansys.org/forum/ Stu P.S. I'll still take you up on that beer! |

Thank you Stuart.
Much appreciated. Count on that beer when you get to Europe. |

I have just got an email informing me that Xansys is a professional ANSYS community and that no questions of this type are allowed.
To make it more strange, because of the professional requirement no gmail, yahoo, hotmail users email addresses are allowed at registration. Only email addresses of companies. My email address has just been banned at Xansys. |
