I tested Ansys 14 and 14.5 in Windows 8 x64 without problems.
For me it works better in W8. This OS is very fast!

i installed Ansys 14.5 on windows 8 but i m getting error loading UDF.

i had the same problem on compiling with windows 7 at the time i installed SDK and visual studio 10 and i used Ansys with SDK command shell and that worked but i can use the same approach because SDK for windows 8 does not have the same command shell.

Any suggestion?

Thanks

Thanks for reply,

it is UDF in Fluent
when i try to compile UDF after pressing built, it says:

> Copied c:\users\iman\desktop/C:\Users\Iman\Desktop\UDF02sec.c to libudf\src
udf_names.c file in 3ddp is upto date.
(system "copy "C:\PROGRA~1\ANSYSI~1\v145\fluent"\fluent14.5.0\sr c\makefile_nt.udf "libudf\win64\3ddp\makefile" ")
1 file(s) copied.
(chdir "libudf")()
(chdir "win64\3ddp")()
'nmake' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Done.

and after loading i constantly get this error:

Opening library "c:\users\iman\desktop\libudf"...
Error: The UDF library you are trying to load (libudf) is not compiled for 3ddp on the current platform (win64).

The system cannot find the file specified.

c:\users\iman\desktop\libudf\win64\3ddp\libudf.dll
Error Object: #f

I've installed VS 2012 on my machine since VS 2010 is not compatible with windows 8.

Thanks
