Hello!
This is my first approach to multiphase model using FLUENT.

I am starting my thesis on CFD analysis for multilayer shallow water flows.
In particular i am trying to compare results obtained from simplyfied models with complete NS equations solver.
My first question is : once shallow water model introduce one momentum equation per layer, the best choice should be euler-euler model instead of VOF. Am i right?

My test case is composed by 3 layers:
1) air
2) water with density rho1
3) water with density rho2

Press outlet??

.........inlet water1.|........velocity =0.5.........................| outlet water1
..........................|_______________________ ________|
..........................|....................... ...........................|
.........inlet water2.|........velocity =1...........................| outlet water2
..........................|_______________________ ________|

i have one inlet boundary and one outlet boundary per each phase.
I tryed different combinations of boundary condition types but i got or divergence or problem with pressure (i was expecting to find a linear vertical distribution for static pressure) and initial velocity fields.
I suppose that solution initialization is done correctly using patching.

Does anybody know how to set correctly BCs?

Thanks!
