Hi I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the correct direction here.
I have generated a semi sphere and extruded an aerofoil into it from the flat surface that cuts the material. I tried using the automatic mesh to see if it would return anything. I got an error saying that bad cells were created and the mesh did not generate. I overcame this problem by using the patch independent method. From what I can see it is creating a pretty messy mesh. The main problem is that the inflation will not generate around the aerofoil. Can anyone suggest a solution to this or anything that would help me mesh the model to a more detailed quality. PS no other mesh methods are working. |

Use Structured mesh , Meshing a simple Aero foil is not that complicating when it comes to blocking . Most of your problems will be solved if you use structured mesh , there is a youtube video on how to block a simple aero foil.

Mahesh he is talking about 3d Aerofoil i.e Wing not the 2d Aerfoil. Look for the tutorial in the tutorial guide of ICEM 13 and you will find the tutorial of Helicopter Meshing. Just fallow those steps, its very easy, if you still find any problem then I will be more than happy to help.
