[ANSYS Meshing] Ansys Meshing Error on Generation

Hi guys,

Just learning CFD from Ansys Tutorials. When coming up to the Mesh Update on page 1-21 (Point 4), am getting an error "an inter-process communication error occured while communicating with the MESHER module." ... (Application: Project>Module). Any idea how to get around this.

I am using Ansys 13.0 (Magnitude) 64 bit version.

Same geometry and tutorial steps work on a Ansys 13.0 (64 bit) academic version install in Uni. ...

Hi,

It can be either license error ( between workbench, geometry/design modeler and meshing)or the way the software has been installed. Probably you can re-install . More-over check for the ansys software minimum requirements like hardware, OS , RAM etc.

I had the same problem.
The tutorial said to put 6e-3 for the element size, supposing you're in meter.
The fact is you're in millimeter by default.
Put 6 mm instead.
The mesh is really to big with 6e-3 mm and the problem is maybe associated to the available memory.

I faced the same problem, I was changing the shared topology from none to imprints in DM. I got the same message while doing meshing. Then I deleted all the names from the name selection, after that, I did the meshing again but didn't get the error.
