I need to simulate a projectile in a cylinder fluid volume. I make a cylindrical fluid volume and then subtract the shape of the projectile correct? How do I do the subtracting part?

Which mesher do you use?
Do you want to do hexa or tetra mesh ? |

I am not sure which mesh I want to use... does it matter at this point or can I wait to fool around with that once I get to the meshing step.
I was told I make a cylindrical fluid volume and then delete from it the shape of my projectile. Is that true at least? lol thanks |

With Gambit: create your cylinder (volume), create your projectile (volume)
Substract projectile from cylinder

With ICEM :
If you use tetra mesh, then put a material point inside your cylinder. If the projectile geometry is closed, it would not mesh the inside of this projectile. If you use hexa mesh (blocking), then "cut" the shape of the projectile, and delete the blocks inside it. |
