Hello,
I have imported a geometry (IGES file) to Gambit. Unfortunately quality of the geometry is poor. There are a lot of short lines with many points and... without connectivity. Despite fact points are located in the same location Gambit can't identify that. Is there any straight way to heal the geometry? Which tools should be used? Best regards, doodek Last edited by doodek; February 6, 2011 at 05:14. |

*Choose STEP File instead of IGES (if you can)
*Else use the CleanUp Tools (check tutorial 5. Sedan Geometry-virtual cleanup)

Thank you for answer -mAx-.
I have imported the same geometry in STEP file, but unfortunately it is not a solution, because I have identical problem like with IGES. It is interesting. Geometry has been created in Unigraphics NX 6.0, maybe it will be easier to repair geom in NX then Gambit? What is the reason of this problem? How to avoid that during model building in NX? I have tried to use CleanUp Short Edges Tool, but it is impossible to automatic merge all edges and on the other hand I can't do this merging edge by edge manually. There are a lot of edges and in my opinion automatic repair is only way to heal geometry. |
