Hello All...
There is a GUI of calculating grid spacing geolab.larc.nasa.gov/APPS/YPlus/ - it requires Reynolds number, Reference length and value of Y+ in order to give grid spacing "ds" as output. Can anyone please tell me the formulae or steps working behind this interface, that calculate ds |

Did you find out about how it computes the grid cell size ?

thanks for the link Simon,
I was just wondering how the nasa calculator was working. it requires a Reynolds number, a y+ value and a characteristic lenght. I presume it is also using the viscosity. it provides a cell size as an output. I was thinking using that tool to give me idea an idea of the miniumum and maximum mesh cell size needed as it links yplus to cell size. However I liked to know how it works. rather than using it blindly. |

Aamer,
I think i have worked out their formula, not sure though. check it up ! Ds= Re^(-0.9) . y+ . Lenght . 5.7 that for S.I http://geolab.larc.nasa.gov/APPS/YPlus/ |

It is a long shot since the page was last edited 13 years ago... but you could always ask its creator, Bill Jones... His email is at the bottom left of the web page. If his email is out of date, you could try to find him on linked in...
