[ICEM] Meshing Error with a Solidworks Geometry

Hey Forum,
I am trying to mesh a floor and a diffuser for our FSAE car but it won't properly mesh due to some error shown below. I used solidworks for my geometry and our car also uses solidworks. ICEM won't import some solidworks files as well for some reason but that's another problem. The error mentioned is "ERROR: Part manager failed to attach assembly". Any help would be appreciated. |

Try parasolid x_t format as I also faced this issue.

The Solidworks file format (*.sldprt, *.sldasm) is proprietary. Unless ICEM has licensed the file format reader from SolidWorks (or if there is a version mismatch), you cannot open SolidWorks files directly. You will need to export your CAD file to a non-proprietary file format (*.STEP, *.X_T, *.IGES, *.ACIS) and use that as an intermediary.
