Hi
I have just started using ANSYS CFX 12.1 and am finding it difficult to generate 2D meshes for any airfoil section in CFX. Basically here are my questions: 1. How do you model a 2D in the design modeler? 2. Once a 2d is generated, how do you mesh it? My main problem is that I cant import a sketch from UG NX7 into ansys. So I am importing a airfoil section of about 0.001mm thickness for a chord of 1mm. Please help me with this! I am stuck and can't proceed further! If possible kindly send me tutorials at amoolraina@hotmail.com for airfoil meshing |

You can import the points into DM (I don't recall exactly how), you can even create points with a list of XYZ coordinates. Do that an then draw a sketch thru the points to create your profile and FF boundary. Then you can either extrude the 2D sketch into a thin solid or use the pull down option to turn the sketch into a surface body (2D)... Then Mesh it... (their are lots of tutorials on the customer portal for this.)
Alternatively, if you have access to ICEM CFD, you could do it like the examples at www.youtube.com/ansysinc/ Best regards, Simon |
