Hi,

To import vertex data into Gambot (I'm using version 2.4.6) I see from other topics that the imported txt file just needs to list the x, y and z co-ordinates and for 2D the un-used axes must list zeros.

But does the first vertex have to be at 0.0 0.0 0.0? Because my data is given with respect to an origin that is not located at the first vertex and Gambit says "Error reading number of points per curve and number of curves:

-0.3 0.0 0.0
-0.2752 0.0192 0.0
-0.2566 0.0243 0.0
-0.238 0.0279 0.0
-0.207 0.032 0.0
-0.176 0.0346 0.0
-0.145 0.0362 0.0
-0.114 0.0372 0.0
-0.083 0.0377 0.0
-0.052 0.038 0.0
-0.021 0.038175 0.0
0.28138 0.038175 0.0
0.44438 0.01525 0.0
0.44438 0.0 0.0

I also put in a line above the data with 14 1 to specify the number of points and curves but the same error happened. The Gambit guide says nothing about vertex data format.

This plots fine in Excel so I know there's no errors in the data.

Thanks.

udayrg is on a distinguished road
hi

I TRIED WITH SAME POINTS YOU HAVE DISPLAYED AND WITHOUT A HICCUP GAMBIT PLOTTED THE POINTS.

READ THE *.TXT FILE FOR IMPORT VERTEX OPTION IN GAMBIT

THIS MIGHT HELP
