There are two ways of doing this.
1. using Template for turbomachinery i.e. G turbo. This is the easiest way with minimal user input 2. Manual method Now tell me whichmethod you like. |

Does G turbo stands for Turbo tool in gambit. I would first like to go for easy method as I have less little experience in turbo meshing. Thank You. |

You just have to convert the IGES file into turbo format i.e .tur . and then press some buttons in gambit. your file of turbine/compressor simulation is ready.
That is all you need in gambit and then run solution in fluent |

I have done gambit tutorials related to turbo tool but since same tuto is not in fluent i am having problems... I dont know which boundary conditions r to be applied. I need some tutorial of turbo which guides through both gambit and fluent. some research papers r there but most of them requires subscription. do u have any tuto apart frm already given in software? |

you need following boundary condtions
1. Total pressure , total temprature, flow inlet angles at inlet 2. Static pressure at outlet corresponding to required mass flow rate and you need to turn on the radial equilibrium option 3. Fluid speed equal to your rpm (set the rpm as low value and then gradualy increase to required level. 4. Casing is stationary 5. periodic conditions for periodic surfaces Flow setting 1. Initially 1st order and courant number 1 2. Flow solver coupled implicit (also named as density based in fluent 6.3 and latter) 3. initialize from inlet values Turbulence model 1. K epsilon 2. SA (I have worked extensively with SA and found to be very accurate) 3. SST |
