Hi everyone,
I have a question regarding my mesh that I created using ICEM. When I visualize it on CFX-Pre you can observe intermediate mesh inside the domain (in this case 2 faces can be seen - red arrows). I tried to reset association from the faces but it is not working. I am not sure on how to proceed, Does anyone know what to do to remove the intermediate mesh faces? Thank you |

Does CFX-Pre automatically create Default Domain Boundaries on those surfaces?
Then you have different mesh on both sides of the surfaces, meaning your mesh is not comformal (discontinuous) or you defined different volume names for the blocks in ICEM. Either remove the naming or make sure that the mesh in ICEM is conformal. A workaround is to create interfaces in Pre using the mesh on both sides. Then Pre will glue the meshes together. However, this will be less accurate. |

Hi Gert-Jan,
Thank you for your response. I was able to fix it in ICEM. The issue was when I created the blocks using the "extrude faces" function --> "Extrude Along Curve" method I didn't select all the parallel faces at the same time. I did it individually therefore the blocks didn't connect altogether. When I selected the faces simultaneously, the issue disappears. |
