Ansys Meshing has a parameter called Maximum Angle (default = 140 deg) if Global / Inflation / View Advanced Options = Yes, to help wrap inflation layers around sharp features.
I'm using Fluent Meshing for a poly-hexcore mesh on a wing with a sharp trailing edge, but the boundary layer elements are failing at the sharp trailing edge. Fluent Meshing does not have an option like the Maximum Angle (above). Anyone been able to get a successful poly-hexcore mesh around a wing with a sharp T.E.? PS, I was avoiding using a baffle from the TE downstream to grow the boundary layers on, they would form stair-stepping at the end of the baffle (OK) but extend Y+=1 elements downstream into the wake (not ideal), but that might be the only way. |
