How to preserve edge grading of blocks during rotation?

Hello,
I have an axisymmetric model for which I am generating 2D blocks and specifying the edge gradings in ICEM. I am converting these 2D blocks to 3D by rotating them through the dedicated option of Create Block> 2D to 3D> Rotation. The major problem with this is that the edge gradings and linked edges that I have generated in 2D are not carried over to 3D. This is creating an issue because now, I have to re-link and re-grade the edges for the rotate 3D model. This is extremely time consuming. I specifically went with the rotation approach because of the following reasons: 1)grading in 3D is really complicated for my setup as it has many blocks. 2) i want to merge an Ogrid topology with these rotated blocks because there is no direct way we can generate O Grid in a quarter-3D model. 3) I am limited by the number of processors ICEM can use so it also limits my iterative process of mesh generation I posted this issue in ANSYS Learning Forum but did not get any satisfactory reply from them. |
