Hello,
I am attempting at model and simulate the Armfield HT33 shell and tube heat exchanger. I have modelled the Hot & Cold fluid domains as well as the 7x tubes that contain the hot fluid. I want to simulate conjugate heat transfer and I am having trouble creating a conformal mesh that is <512,000 elements + nodes. My goal is to determine the overall heat transfer coefficient for this model. I seem to get the tubes and hot fluid domain conformal however, I can't seem the get the cold fluid domain conformal with the tube wall. Any advice? (Design Modler & Mesh images below) Thanks for your time. HT33 MESH.jpg HT33 Geometry.jpg |

1.) Use symmetry to cut the size of your model in half since you are limited by node count.
2.) In Design Modeler, select al bodies, right click, and "create part". This will give you a conformal mesh across bodies. |
