Unable to select multiple Faces Ansys 2021

I am trying to mesh a 3D object in Ansys 2021 which is long and thin so to expose and select all necessary faces I have to use the pan and rotate functions. The issue is that after reorientation of my model, when I click the select faces function the previously selected faces are deselected.
When using Ansys 2018 at work I do not have this issue; I am able to pan, rotate and select multiple faces without the previously selected faces becoming deselected. Is there a setting I need to turn on so that the faces I select remain if I click away from the select faces function? I have also accidentally removed the quick access ribbon that contained the pan, rotate, zoom face select etc functions. How do I get this back? |

Do you have the Smart Select button active? This is a new feature and I find it can be a nuisance, I does not allow selecting items behind other items. If you only want to select all the faces then change to the Face Select, RMB in the graphics window and choose Select All.

Hi siw. Thank you for your response.
The smart select was not active, I activated it to see if it sorted the issue; it didn't! The solution is to not click the select faces function after panning and/or rotating the geometry; instead click the single select function again. This automatically reselects the select faces function without deselecting the previously selected faces. Easy fix when you know, but when used to Ansys 2018 where it works slightly differently it becomes less intuitive! |
