pulplus is on a distinguished road
Hi! I'm new to ICEM and I'm working with it for my thesis project.
I'm using the 2020 release on Linux but the problem I gonna explain happens on the 2019 release too.

I want to import an iges model with Import Model > stp/iges. The problem is that the import process seems to be always pending: I think it may depend on the ansys.mesher.fieldmesher.exe, because I have always to kill it to take stop the pending import process.

On windows I do not have any of this issues, using obviously the same files to import. I don't think it depends on the format i want to import because there's the same problem with other formats (stp, catpart) as well.

How can I solve this situation?
Thank you!

Gweher will become famous soon enough
Hi Giuseppe,

I know that there are some limitations with features depending on the operating system. The best way to be up to date is to check the Class3 report from Ansys.

One walk around to test would be to start ICEM from Workbench. Create a geometry cell > import the iges > transfer to ICEM cell > start ICEM. It could also be done in batch mode.

If it doesn't work I would suggest to send a customer support directly.

Have fun
