Since SpaceClaim Interactive Meshing is a new ANSYS meshing tool, and will most likely be the replacement for ICEM CFD, can you make a new thread prefix e.g. [SpaceClaim Meshing].

I have downloaded the ANSYS Student version 2020R1 on to my laptop to learn the new SpaceClaim Interactive Meshing (SCIM). I am still using an old pre-SCIM ANSYS version at work. Searching the ANSYS Customer Portal, YouTube channels etc. does not present any learning material. So I (we) can only learn by trial and error.

To start I'm trying to make a C-Grid mesh around an aerofoil. The best guide for this is the 3-part YouTube videos by PSYMN, who no longer contributes to this forum (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EknKVAJGEJ8). This is for CFX so it is not true 2D and has a small thickness in the z-axis. I used Add/Edit = Bounding Box. Then I made the edge and vertex Associations. However, there are a few omissions here: no way to see edge associations and vertices are automatically snapped to the curves or points (the User cannot do themselves). However, the problem is making the half O-Grid. Picking the single Block and the 3 Faces (both sides and outlet) makes the crazy edges in the first picture. I manuall move the block vertices to about where they should be. The making the Block vertices and updating the mesh breaks the Associations, see second picture. I have not gone further: e.g. delete block at the aerofoil or collasped the block downstream of the trailing edge.

This should be simple stuff. Let's open up about helping each other with this new ANSYS mesher. Thanks
