Hello,
I am a beginner in combustion modeling. I woud like to practice modeling the Sandia Flame D using OpenFoam as a starting point. But I don't know how to generate the geometry/mesh. Can anyone advise me where to find a meshing file to download? Or advise me how to generate such a mesh? Thank you very much! |

Hi,
first of all, this is the ANSYS forum. You mentioned to use OpenFoam which has its own meshing tools as well. I didnt know what Sandia Flame was in the first place so I googled and found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSZXAcrX1YQ Is that what you try to do? The geometry for it seems to be quite simple. Do you have a CAD program at hand? Could be done in DesignModeler (ANSYS) or something like FreeCad and then mesh it using cfmesh? I recommend doing the mesh yourself instead of using someone elses. Meshing is a basic part of CFD studies. |

Hi, AtoHM,
Thank you for the info. Yes, the burner geometry is fairly simple. Based on your info, I think I can use Solidworks for drawing the geometry. Then I can mesh it using meshing tools like cfmesh. |
