Hi all, I am trying utilise as much CPU/computational power to perform mesh generation on my PC as possible (I do not need to use the computer for anything other than meshing). I have seen tutorials online (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDc_KGFKcrU) how to do this but does not seem to affect CPU performance or change mesh times. Settings used:
PC used: See images * I performed two tests, see below: Test 1: number of CPU’s for meshing method = 0 number of CPU’s for parallel part meshing = programme controlled CPU utilisation ~ 30% (estimated) Meshing time = 4m 20s Test 2: number of CPU’s for meshing method = 4 number of CPU’s for parallel part meshing = 4 CPU utilisation ~ 33% (estimated) Meshing time = 4m 23s See images for PC performance during the two tests meshing processes. How can I utilise all possible computational resources to reduce meshing times? I am happy to use any and all resources the PC has (all 8 CPU's) and will not use the computer for anything other than meshing. Any and all help and advice will be very warmly received. Many thanks. Regards, Christopher |
