hello, all

I am trying to mesh a straight channel with catalyst coated on the wall. For the numerical convenience, the leading edge of the wall has no catalyst, namely inert and it's called inert wall in my geometry. The other wall has catalyst on it and is called catalytic wall in my geometry.

my problem is : After I import the generated mesh into fluent, the inert and catalytic parts are missing. Instead, a surface called geom emerges automatically to replace inert and catalytic wall. I can not figure out why this happens.

Can anybody give me some suggestions?

Thanks a lot

Weiqiang.

bluebase will become famous soon enough
Do you have the necessary surfaces/lines in the right part?
And do you set a boundary condition for each part?

Best regards,
Sebastian

Did you have a different geometry in ICEM before the current one?

If you build a project (blocking, mesh, whatever) on a geometry and then change it at some point (close geometry, import other model) you need to make sure that the old blocking is moved to belong to the new material point. If this is not done correctly, some of the old blocking and referencing may stay in the project. I saw the same behavior as you described when I made that mistake once. I see you still have an entity called Geom in your tree so I guess thats the issue.

To resolve it, make a RMB-click on your current material point and "add to part". Then in the menu switch to "add blocking material". Make blocks visible if needed and assign all the blocking to the new material point. Make sure Geom is deleted after the new mesh is created.
