Hello all.
I have an issue with a Boolean subtraction for a simulation I wish to run. I have a feeling it may be to do with surfaces but I am unsure how to solve this. I'll list my steps below. Import geometry from IGS file. Create New Plane (Plane 4) at centre of imported body. Create body transformation to move body from plane 4 to XYPlane. Create Unite Boolean (Boolean 1) to merge imported geometry. Sketch octagon and extrude as user defined enclosure. Create Subtract Boolean (Boolean 2). Subtract 1 from enclosure. Boolean 2 results in 11 parts being created rather than 1 as I would hope for. I am using an edited geometry sent by a colleague. The prior versions of this file had less surfaces and were created fine. The error with Boolean 2 may be due to this but I am unsure. If anyone could help that would be great. Cheers, Collie Please refer to attached picture for reference |
