Hi!

I am doing a study on Energy Saving Devices (ESDs) which are fitted either before/at/after the propeller and help in reduction of rotational/axial/pressure losses. Some examples are pre/post - swirl stator, Wake equalising duct, Nozzle, Propeller boss cap with fins etc.

I was thinking of performing CFD calculations(aft-section) on a hull- form(TBD) with the ESD attached (TBD). I am fairly new to CFD and have used ANSYS CFX for studying the simulation of flow around an airfoil.

I was wondering which software could I use to perform the above simulation of a flow around aft of a hull-form with propeller and ESD attached. Is it possible in ANSYS CFX? If not, then which software would be easy to learn and perform these simulations. Thanks!
